The NYSRPS Executive Board is pleased to announce the call for nominations. Do you have a passion for the park and recreation industry and want to make a difference in the lives of your fellow professionals? Consider joining the NYSRPS Executive Board.

What is the commitment?

NYSRPS Executive Board meetings are held 6 times a year (June, August, October, December, February and April) and are mostly held via Zoom. The exact in-person meeting calendar is yet to be determined, but we expect to continue most meetings online, as they save time and travel expenses.

As a member of the Executive Board you have a voice in leading the State Society in affairs that directly impact park and recreation professionals including professional development, public policy, communications / public awareness, resource development, awards and recognition, just to name a few.

Do I need prior Board experience?

For most Board positions you do not need prior experience on a board, but it is helpful. Full orientation, training and continued support is provided. The major prerequisite is a desire to serve and contribute ideas and a fresh perspective.
