HYBRID Association Executive Position Available! Candidates may be based anywhere in NYS that is accessible to the Saratoga Springs office on an "as needed" basis. NYSRPS is seeking a dynamic association professional who is interested in a career growth opportunity with an important and impactful organization that serves the park and recreation industry, its professionals and its communities throughout New York State. NYSRPS has been around for 80-plus years and enjoys an enthusiastic and dedicated volunteer leadership and small part-time staff as well as a beautiful office setting in the Saratoga Spa State Park in Saratoga Springs, NY. Our mission is to serve as the principal organization advancing the value of parks, recreation, and leisure services through professional development of our members and citizen engagement. We are proactively working toward growing our internal resources as well as our benefits and programming for members to ensure the vitality and relevance of our association for decades to come.

  Town of Brighton Recreation Department is actively searching for a Recreation Program Assistant Supervisor

Looking for an enthusiastic, community-minded person for this position!


 Assist in the coordination and supervision of summer camps and recreation programs.

 Assist with staff training, employee evaluation and program evaluation process.

 Coordinate public relations efforts with recreation programs.

 Organize supplies and materials for recreation and parks programs.

 Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in:

 Recreation and Park Administration

 Sports Management

 Health, Physical Education and Recreation

 Business Administration or related field


 (2) seasons of camp leadership or recreation program leadership experience

Employment Period: June 22 (Potentially earlier) – August 19

(35-40) hours per week, Monday - Friday

After the summer, we will have additional opportunities during the school year such as working at our afterschool program or school recess programs. We can work with your schedule.

Salary: $15.65/hour

This is a full-time position, with benefits; Hours will vary according to programming needs and may include time scheduled weekdays between 7am-9pm and/or weekends 8am-5pm. Description of Duties: The position of Recreation Assistant, under the direct supervision of the Parks and Recreation Director, Assistant Recreation Director, and Recreation Supervisors, assists with both identifying the recreational needs of the community and the implementation of a comprehensive community recreation program for all ages. This is an aide position involving responsibility for assisting recreational personnel with the daily routine tasks surrounding assigned program activities. The Recreation Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, directing and implementing various programs and activities suitable to the interests and needs of a variety of age groups, including but not limited to planning for the utilization of recreation facilities and areas.   The work is performed under the general supervision of the Director with leeway allowed for the exercise of independent judgment in carrying out the details of the work.



This is a professional administrative position in the field of recreation involving the responsibility for planning, organizing and promoting recreation activities for the Town, including evaluating present and future needs for recreation in accordance with community changes. Provides oversight of various internal functions within the department. The position involves the leadership, supervision and coordination of large numbers of professional and non-professional recreation personnel. General supervision is received from the Parks and Recreation Commission and the Town Supervisor. Does related work as required.
