Registration

The Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) certification program is the most comprehensive training program on playground hazard identification and risk management methods offered nationwide. By becoming a CPSI, you will learn how to identify hazards on public playgrounds and playground equipment, rank those hazards according to injury potential and apply that knowledge, as well as how to establish a playground safety program.

Exam Day:

Friday, October 7th

Exam check‐in at 8am

Exam 9am‐11am

You MUST bring 2 forms of ID with your signature for the test,including one picture ID- NO EXCEPTIONS.

Lunch by Panera Bread on Wednesday and Thursday is included with your registration and your order will be taken prior to the class. Snacks and beverages will be provided additionally during breaks.


Please note:

Stay home if you have tested positive for COVID-19 or are showing symptoms.

CPSI Course safety guidelines are currently at the discretion of the host unless their hosting site county has:

  • COVID transmission rates that = meet or exceed the CDC High Transmission Risk rate in the county hosting the event within the week leading up to the event.
  • Greater than 100 new cases per 100,000 persons within the host's county in the past seven days
  • Information on county-specific transmission rates can be found here: https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-view

If the hosting site county exceeds any of these rates, all safety guidelines (including mask mandate) must be followed.
NRPA reserves the right to reinstate the safety guidelines at any time.

A candidate who has a disability may request a special accommodation; the request must be submitted in writing at the time of course or exam registration. The request form is available online at www.nrpa.org/cpsi. In order to properly accommodate all persons with disabilities, it is recommended that all requests be made 45 days prior to the scheduled date for the course and exam.

English as second language (ESL) candidates may request a time extension and/or the use of a strict translation dictionary. Request forms/fees must be submitted to NRPA no less than 30 days prior to the exam. The request form is available online at www.nrpa.org/cpsi.

Under the NYSRPS Event Cancellation Policy 

As posted on nysrps, no refunds within 30 days are given. Unfortunately, this will be enforced with CPSI. NRPA charges the Society for the number confirmed regardless who is in actual attendance so the instructor's travel and compensation is covered. In the event of a COVID illness, documentation may be required for a refund. We thank you for your understanding.
