Friends of NYSRPS Scholarship Opportunity

The primary focus goals of “Friends” is to generate resources initiating educational scholarships and development opportunities for students pursuing careers in the leisure service field, to foster the advancement of research within the field of leisure services and afford the membership new opportunities for professional training and development.

The Friends of NYSRPS offers an annual scholarship opportunity of $1000 for a student pursuing a career in the parks, recreation, historic preservation industry, with multiple award opportunities possible. 

The New York State Recreation and Park Society Friends Committee is dedicated to enhancing professional opportunities and growth of the field within the state. As such, we are pleased to announce our 2024 College Scholarship Program that will provide successful applicants a $1,000 award and a registration package to attend the 2024 NYSRPS Conference to include conference registration and hotel accommodations for up to two nights. This scholarship is available to undergraduates and graduate college students who are majoring and pursuing a career in the Recreation, Parks, and Leisure Services field.
