Professional Development

YSRPS is very pleased to share incredible opportunities this fall for professional development and certification. While programs have switched to a virtual format, they will be no less comprehensive and presented by the recreation industry's top professionals. We thank you for participating and look forward to serving your professional development needs during this different kind of year.

CPSI

The NRPA National Playground Safety Inspector course is the most comprehensive training program on playground hazard identification and risk management methods offered. Advanced reading and 15 hours of training will prepare you to sit for the Certified Playground Safety Inspector exam given at the end of the course. This course is led by NRPA provided instructors and it is a national certification, not state specific.

DOWNSTATE CONFERENCE

The Downstate Conference hosted by New York's Affiliate Partners WRAPS, HVLSA, METRO, NYSTRA and NYSRPS is celebrated annually to give park, recreation and therapeutic professionals a chance to gather for professional development, networking and camaraderie. Sessions offer a chance to earn Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) for park and recreation recertifications of CPRP / CPRE as well as CTRS for therapeutic professionals.

WEBINAR SERIES

Webinars are a wonderful way to develop professionally from the comfort of your home and earn credit towards certifications. NYSRPS has specifically identified three partners for delivering vital information via webinars. We have opened the door to this virtual system for engagement and continuing educational opportunities.
